This past Saturday (6/21/25), the OFD held our Annual Department Inspection. A very warm but beautiful day to be on our gorgeous waterfront. Neighboring Agency Chiefs & Officers, invited guests, and local dignitaries were able to tour our apparatus and display the pride and tradition our department has in our equipment & membership.

Many long hours of work were put in by our members preparing the apparatus of their respective companies. After judging was completed by the Westchester County Parade Judges Association and line-up was held, members & guests enjoyed the evening with food & camaraderie. Notably this year we congratulated the members that completed our Probationary Firefighter Training Class we’ve been posting about (Classes 02-2024 & 01-2025). We also would note that our oldest member of 79 years in the Department Richard Crisfield was in attendance, we congratulate him on his continued involvement with Independent Hose Company & the OFD.

The Clinton W. Crawford Memorial Trophy for Best Overall Appearing Department Apparatus was awarded to Engine 96. We congratulate the officers & members of Ossining Hose along with the rest of the OFD on another successful and impressive inspection.

We also want to thank the Millwood Fire Company & Tarrytown Fire Department for providing coverage for us during the evening to allow us to enjoy the night.
