| Yesterday evening, just before 7PM, the OFD was dispatched to Route 9A in the area of Route 134 for a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle rollover into the woods. The sole occupant, the operator, self-extricated and refused further medical attention. Fire Department personnel remained on scene while awaiting vehicle removal by a local tow company. While operating on 9A, a second call for service was received for Woods Brooke Terrace for a reported party down an embankment with an ankle injury. Chief Sanchez (2331) responded and redirected Engine 96 and Utility 51 to the second call, while Chief Rinaldi (2334) and Engine 97 remained at the highway. Tower Ladder 42 also responded to Woods Brooke Terrace. Fortunately, the patient sustained only minor injuries and was turned over to Ossining EMS. Between both calls, approximately 25 volunteers responded. Coincidentally, we just reviewed Low Angle Rope Rescue this past weekend with a class with Signal 73. Luckily we did not have to get technical with this incident, but with our recent review of ropes we were ready to get the job done. Want to join our team!?
