| This morning, the OFD hit the 500 call mark for 2026. It didn’t last long as additional alarms were received and we are now at 503 requests to date. This is a rise in calls in comparison to where the department was last year at this time. Annually the department responds to approximately 650-700 incidents, ranging in various types of emergencies and requests. We are on pace to surpass that in 2026 (Yearly Run Stats Are Listed Below). This wouldn’t be possible to be handled if it wasn’t for the dedicated membership of the department, and the continued support of the community. Aside from responding to alarms, training, equipment upkeep, and many other things are accomplished by our members daily. We are always looking for members, if being a part of this even interests you in the littlest bit and you’re not sure it’s for you….don’t second guess yourself and come see what it’s all about. We will be at National Night Out tonight (August 4th) from 6-9pm at OHS. Stop by your local firehouse and inquire about what the next step is to joining. Click that "JOIN NOW" Tab on the Left Side Task Bar and fill out the form and we will reach out to you and get the ball rolling. Also….if you aren’t aware, it’s parade week. Friday night at 7pm, the Annual OFD Firefighter’s Parade will make its way through the village with close to 30 participating agencies and YOUR OFD Volunteers displaying the pride we have in our equipment and the privilege it is to call ourselves your Fire Department. 2026: YTD 503 Alarms |
