During the last week in July, members of the apparatus committee for the new Engine 100 traveled to Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin to complete the Final Inspection of their new engine. This 2 day process is the time the committee along with the apparatus sales representative go over the rig with a "fine tooth comb" if you will making sure everything is to specification set forth by the committee. These final "specs' were finalized at the pre-construction meeting during the later part of 2021. Line-by-line, inch by inch everything is checked, tried, turned on, driven, and engineers are met with to ensure everything is perfect.

Following this process, the rig is taken back by the manufacturer and adjustments and changes are made that are necessary. Shortly after, it will be driven and delivered to the local sales representatives facility in Paterson where it will once again be checked and prepped for delivery to us. It will then go through the motions for equipment mounting, communications equipment installation, and any other finishing touches that are needed. This will be the 2nd Pierce piece of apparatus we are purchasing with our first ever by Engine 96 in 2020. These 2 engines are very similar in spec and appearance which we feel will be great for operations jointly in the department for the future. Holla Hose did once again go with their Black over Red "Chicago Style" colors which came out very nicely. Below are some of the highlights of this new engine, hopefully we will see this in town very soon!!!

This is a 2022 Pierce Enforcer Custom Cab Pumper, this is equipped with an 84inch cab structure and a 10inch raised roof. the Unit is powered by a Cummins L9 Diesel motor with 450 horsepower and an Allison Transmission. the Pump is a 2000GPM Waterous equipped with a Pierce Husky 3 Foam System. It carries 500 gallons of water and 30 gallons of Class A foam. It sports a 19inch Chicago Style Steel Front bumper, with a front intake and 200 foot 3/4inch booster reel located above the officers side pump panel in the dungeon area. The Body is Pierce's "Medium Body" with high side hatch compartments. Its complete with full Whelen Emergency lighting along with a Fire Tech Brow Light and FRC area lighting around the rig. For added safety, it is also equipped with a rear and officer side view camera system.
