| Tower ladder 42 along with Millwood FD Engine 247 & Car 2253 would fulfill a stand-by request for the Briarcliff Manor Fire Department during the memorial service of one of their own. Roger Cardoso of Scarborough Engine Company sadly lost his battle with Cancer & Leptomeningeal Disease.
Roger along with his brother Matt grew up in Ossining, both volunteering with the BMFD. The truly dedicated gentleman he was, Roger was currently serving as a Special Agent for the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (DHS/HSI) at the young age of 28. Prior to this, he served in Law Enforcement agencies on both the East & West Coasts. A fitting memorial service with a large contingent from the DHS & BMFD was held in front of Fire Headquarters on Pleasantville Rd.
The OFD sends our condolences to the Cardoso Family on his passing. It was truly a privilege to cover our brothers & sisters as they paid their respects. |
