Louis Sanchez
Chief Engineer

Chief Sanchez joined the OFD in 1989 becoming a member of Senate Hook & Ladder Co. Known to many as "Fredo", he joined the Chief's ranks in 2021 under Chief's Gallery & Scarduzio Jr. Prior to trading in his black helmet for his shiny white, he proudly served in many positions in his company, his most well known as the Chief Driver of Ladder 41 for over 20 years. Chief Sanchez's Wife serves along with the oldest of his two sons both aswell in Senate Hook & Ladder.

Chief Martinez joined the OFD as well in 1989. Known to many as "Tony", he joined the Chief's ranks in 2023 under Chief's Scarduzio Jr, & Sanchez. Tony for many years has been extensively involved in his home company of Washington Hook & Ladder Company. The Fundraising end of our department, the Firefighter Assist & Search Team, & membership training including being a bailout instructor are just some of the things he has aided with.. He has served in a company line officer position numerous terms and also served as a Department Commisioner.	Chief Rinaldi joined the OFD in 2008. Joesph joined the Chief's ranks in 2025 under the current staff. Like Chief Martinez, Joe has been involved heavily in the training aspect of our department. He has served as a Department Training Officer along with spearheading the development of our Internal Probationary Firefighter Class. Prior to entering the Chief's Staff, he held the position of Treasurer on our Department Fundraising Committee, was the current Chief Driver of Utility 51 (the Special Operations Apparatus), and was involved with the Recruitment & Retention Committee. Within his home Company of Ossining Hose, he was the Chief Driver of Engine 96 prior to being elected Chief, held multiple terms as a line officer, & remains their company treasurer. A plethora of Joesph's family serve within the OFD.

The Chief''s of the OFD are elected on the first Tuesday of every even calendar year. They are elected by the department members at the outgoing Chief Engineers company quarters. Each term spans 2 years for each office, they begin and end on January 1st. The Chief's are sworn into office by the Village Mayor, this is usually the first order of business a newly sworn-in/elected Mayor will do at the begining of thier term. Once the 6-Year term of the Chief's Office is complete, the outgoing or "retiring" Chief will become a Deputy Chief.
