Drafting & Rural Water Operations with Class 01-2025

This past Wednesday evening, the members of Probie Class 01-2025 took part in their weekly training with an overview of securing alternative water sources and how drafting works.

Engine 96 and the members would take a “field trip” to Millwood Fire Station #2 and work with them using Tanker 15. The use of a Portable Pond or “Porta-Tank” was used to give an understanding of what happens where Fire Hydrants are not present. Also the use of Hard Suction that is carried on our engines, how does it exactly all work.

Another tool reviewed for the toolboxes of these new members of the OFD. Thanks to Millwood for their assistance in teaching us how they do things and what we would encounter in an extreme water emergency to seek alternative water sources.
