Members Attend Polaris UTV Training

During the last days of June, members were offered the opportunity to attend the Polaris UTV Operations Class taught by Polaris Government & Defense Training. This took place at the Camp Smith Army National Guard Installation in Cortlandt Manor.

The UTV Operations Course was taught by Polaris Government & Defense Training Instructors, as well as several Local Instructors. Members were put through several different hands-on training evolutions, going over different UTV operations and scenarios that can be encountered. After the morning training evolutions, they took to the woods and trails of Camp Smith to practice driving etiquette and go over topics that were covered earlier in the day.

The OFD extends their sincere appreciation to Pound Ridge Fire Department’s Chief Zafonte and Continental Village Fire Department’s Deputy Chief Radocaj. These 2 gentlemen helped spearhead this training availability to multiple agencies in our area. We appreciated the opportunity to extend our members knowledge in training that we normally would not do/attend.
