| On the evening of July 10th, the OFD along with the Yorktown Heights FD & the Bedford Hills Fire Department took part in a “10-75, Bring your first alarm assignment” drill at the Westchester County Fire Training Center. This was part of the County’s Weekly Drill Series that is put on by the County Fire Instructors.
This drill was designed for Fire Departments to send a portion of their 10-75 (Working Fire Assignment) to the Fire Training Center for a training session utilizing the burn simulator. This session will replicate working fire conditions, emphasizing multi-agency coordination and execution of critical fireground tasks as if it's a real incident. The end goal is to maximize the effectiveness of bringing the people you will be responding with and working with together prior to the actual event.
Members were able to interact with agencies we usually don’t operate with. These opportunities strengthening our working bonds and relationships with our mutual aid partners. We look forward to working with the Hills & the Heights again in the near future. |
