| Sunday, December 21st brought the Annual OPD, OFD, & OVAC Candy Cane Run to Town. We started bright and early on the Northend finishing up shortly before 4pm. This tradition continues to grow and become better and better each year for our community. Santa even stopped into Anytime Fitness in Arcadian to spread some holiday cheer, he found himself taking alittle run on the trendmill to. Working together with the other emergency services of our community like this continues to strengthen the bond between all of us on and off emergency scenes.
Unfortunately the OFD units on the route had to break off at one point and respond for a reported structure fire in the Town. Units arrived on scene within 2 minutes of dispatch to find embers from the residences fireplace that were smoldering on the rear deck. Simultaneously, an additional alarm was sounded for a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment on North Highland Ave by Snowden Ave. Units were diverted to this additional alarm till negative entrapment was confirmed by a Deputy Chief that was in the immediate area. Units would clear the alarms and we joined back up with the convoy at Vets Park.
We want to thank all of the support from our residents that came out to say hello, grab a candy cane from the big guy, and graciously gave us some gifts on the route. **The Cookies from our residents on Bradshaw & Susquehanna were outstanding!!!** Thank you for thinking of us!!!
Till Next Year!!! |
