Annual Bailout Recert’s Continue

This past Friday, members including our 3 chiefs continued annual bailout recertification's. Many of these gentlemen are actually some of our bailout trainers also. Just because they are trainers, doesn’t mean they don’t need to show proficiency in executing what they teach. Each member that is issued a bailout kit is requied annually to recert in its use.

This is just another way we we provide the necessary tools and training for our volunteers to safely operate. With this equipment, it gives them the chance to save themselves if the unfortunate situation arises they are trapped. This gives them the ability to “bailout” and safely descend to a lower floor if their original point of access/egress is cutoff from fire growth or deteriorating conditions. During this recertification, other topics are reviewed such as knots, repacking of the bailout bag, and making harnesses out of webbing if necessary.
