Shortly before 2:30pm, Tower Ladder 42 was requested mutual aid to Croton-on-Hudson for a reported house fire on Palmer Avenue. As the first Croton Fire unit was enroute, a large header of smoke could be seen in a distance. This prompted the Engine 118 officer to request the working fire assignment be started out. Initial arriving companies encountered heavy fire from the basement and rear of the structure. As the 10-75 assignmet was being dispatced, the 2nd alarm was requested brining additional necessary assets to the scene. Tower Ladder 42 & Car 2332 (Assistant Chief Martinez) responded and would arrive as the 1st due truck company.

Upon arrival, the tower was positioned in the front of the residence with the aerial set up for any potential vertical ventilation, access to the roof, or if the use of an elevated master stream was needed. The crew split up with members putting up portable ladders to the strucure and others assisting with opening up and overhaul as needed. The quick and aggressive hose line deployment and fire attack of the first arriving members had the main body of fire knocked extremely fast. Ossining units were released by Croton Command shortly after 4pm. Thankfully all residents were out of the residence and no injuries were sustained by any members that operated on scene. The cause of the fire has not officially been released or determined at this time by the WCDES Cause & Origin Investigators.

Again, a solid job done by the Croton FD.
