| Over Father’s Day weekend, members made the trip north to the beautiful Adirondacks to the Annual Hudson Valley Volunteer Firefighters Convention & Parade. Although a wet one, the parade still went on along with the planned festivities & meetings during the week.
The OFD would bring home awards for 3rd Best Appearing Color Guard-Fire Service & Best Appearing Fire Unit Bloused Uniform 27-38 in the Line of March. This year a bit different for us, our friends from St. Peter's Drum Corps led us down the street in the Convention Parade taking home 2nd Best Appearing Color Guard-Non Fire Service & Best Musical Band. Our hats are off to the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department for taking home Best Overall.
We also would like to bid congratulations to our very own Robert Fristche for being elected & sworn in as the new 2nd Vice President of the HVVFA.
Shout out to GD629 & Fires from Around the Falls: Tri-County Fire History for the photos |
